Module 1 - Human Behaviour
This session reviews the latest studies on human behaviour, motivation and culture in order to objectively identify “what makes us tick” and why friction arises within human groups. From here, Human Factors begins to make sense...
Module 2 - Human Limitations
Numerous aircraft accidents have resulted from conditions that exceeded the limits of the aircrew involved. The affects of illusion, fatigue, alcohol and pilot stress are defined. We lead your team to review how universally shared human limitations may impact your operations along with the indicators that these limits are approaching.
Module 3 - Leadership/ Followership
The do’s and don'ts of effective command and follower-ship are focused upon in Module 3. Discussion covers delegation, coaching, servant leadership and how to exert powerful influence both upward, downward and across your team. Gain rules-of-thumb for both leaders and followers. Participants are left with an enhanced understanding of the stressors innate to each role.
Module 4 - Decision Making
Poorly structured decision processes have contributed to some of the world’s worst air disasters. Look at what went wrong and why. We will discuss how decisions are made both consciously and unconsciously and how emotion is always present. Improve your decision skills to minimise decision related mishaps.
Module 5 - Delivering and Receiving Critique
Effective Communication - One of the most difficult interpersonal elements for leaders and followers is associated with the delivery of criticism. Take away tips on how to avoid shutting communications down to keep the team effective.
Module 6 - Teamwork/ Team Building
If you wish to bond your team quickly, we will show you how. This session focuses on what makes or inhibits effective teamwork and flow. Team building exercises may be incorporated to compliment the training.
Module 7 - Mission Planning/ Execution
Prevention is the best cure. Sound mission planning and disciplined execution allows the military to execute unusual and high-risk missions effectively and safely …see how. Relate and incorporate these concepts into your domain.
Module 8 - Situational Awareness
Situational Awareness is knowing what's going on around you - The Big Picture. Understand the importance of situational awareness throughout all activities. We discuss and practice how to detect when SA is lost and how to regain SA in short time. Apply the rule-of-three to bust confusion.
Module 9 - Threat and Error Management
The threats in aviation must be treated or the consequences can be catastrophic. The essential components of an aviation safety management system (SMS) are discussed during Module 9. Risk management tools are explained. The role of a Safety Officer is described. Legal aspects of risk assessment processes are reviewed.
